Two West Valley senior communities celebrate Oktoberfest

Two West Valley senior living communities will host Oktoberfest celebrations this year, featuring traditional German-inspired food, music, themed activities, and opportunities to support local charitable causes through raffles and donations.

The events and are open to residents, families, local seniors and community partners. Chef-prepared seasonal menus, entertainment and community tours are available.

Westgate Village will play host to the first Oktoberfest 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8847 W. Glendale Ave. Glendale.

Guests are asked to RSVP by Oct. 5 by calling 623-335-1767 or clicking on this link.

 Then, Vista del Rio will have its celebration 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 at 13619 N. 94th Drive in Peoria.

RSVPs are required by Oct. 12 and can be made by calling 623-250-5592 or clicking on this link.

Oktoberfest food options at both celebrations include:  a giant pretzel with beer cheese dip, kartoffelpuffer, currywurst, zwiebelkuchen, jägerschnitzel, sauerbraten, rinderroulade, braised red cabbage and German potato salad.

German-style beers and non-alcoholic drinks will be available.
