'Unmatched' legacy: Key Gilbert employee retires

There may be no better witness to Gilbert’s growth than Larry Taylor.

It is not just that Taylor is a longtime resident, though he is that. He and his wife moved to Gilbert from Mesa in 1983, when the little farming community had maybe 10,000 people in it.

And it is not just that Taylor has been a longtime employee, though he is that, having spent 30 years happily in the town’s employment, starting in 1994 when Gilbert’s population was up to about 48,000.
