Softball tourney in Gilbert to support foster youth during National Adoption Month

Foster youth and community members will gather Monday, Nov. 3, for the annual Homeruns for Hope softball tournament, an event aimed at raising awareness and support for youth in foster care.

The free event, held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cactus Yards, 4536 E. Elliot Road, Gilbert, invites the public to participate in games, cheer on teams, enter a raffle and silent auction, and contribute to a holiday gift drive. Yard games and other family-friendly activities will also be available.

So far, 11 teams are scheduled to compete, including groups from Arizona’s Cheesecake Factory and North Italia restaurants. For the first time, a team representing Hope and A Future will take the field, featuring young adults who have aged out of foster care.
