Public comment open for Gilbert’s action plan for federal funds

Posted

Public comment is now open for next year’s Annual Action Plan for Community Development Block Grant  and HOME Investment Partnership funds in Gilbert.

Community members have until Wednesday, April 3, to share feedback on the draft plan.

Gilbert receives CDBG and HOME funds annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and utilizes these funds to provide various housing, infrastructure and public facility improvements.

For the fiscal year 2024-2025 annual action plan, Gilbert has proposed using CDBG and HOME funds for three key focus areas:

  • To help low-income residents have a suitable living environment through home rehabilitation assistance programs and additional funding for local nonprofits.
  • To provide needed public services, including administrative support at the Gilbert Heritage Center and funding for homeless services.
  • To invest in infrastructure development by renovating the exterior areas of the Heritage Center to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Submitting feedback

Feedback on the draft plan can be submitted to Linda Ayres, Gilbert's community resources supervisor, via email at linda.ayres@gilbertaz.gov or by phone at 480-503-6956.
