Outgoing leaders honored as Gilbert Chamber hosts Excellence awards

Gilbert paused to honor two of its top leaders who will leave in the coming months at the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce’s 29th annual Community Excellence Awards.

Gilbert Town Manager Patrick Banger, who will leave the town in January to become Glendale’s city manager, received two special awards, one from the Chamber and the other recognizing his impact on Gilbert Sister Cities.

“Since joining the town in 2011, Patrick has been the steady hand and visionary mind guiding Gilbert’s transformation — from a fast-growing suburb into one of the most admired, innovative, and forward-thinking communities in the nation,” Chamber President and CEO Sarah Watts said.
