Higley superintendent awarded $6,000 bonus

Higley Unified School District Superintendent David Loutzenheiser has been awarded a $6,000 performance bonus following a split vote by the district's governing board.

The board approved the payment 3-1 at its Oct. 27 meeting, with board members Amanda Wade, Sara Jarman and Tiffany Shultz supporting the bonus and Anna Van Hoek opposing it.

The payment represents 80% of the maximum $7,500 in performance-based compensation available under Loutzenheiser's three-year contract, which the board approved in April 2025.
