Gilbert will host a new event, Sound Bites Music & Food Festival, from 2-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Gilbert Regional Park.
The Gin Blossoms, which emerged out of Tempe in the late 1980s, will headline the musical entertainment at the event, which is presented by Genesis of Chandler and open to all ages. Opening acts are High '90s and The Black Moods.
Tickets online are $35 and $50 at the door. Children under 12 are free. Cabanas also are available for $800. No one will be admitted to Gilbert Regional Park that day without a ticket.
Parking will be available on-site at Gilbert Regional Park via credit/debit only. Parking lots will open at 1:30 PM. Tailgating is not permitted.
Several food trucks will be on hand, offering everything from classic BBQ, burgers, and smoothies to tacos, philly cheese steaks and chimichuri.
Alcohol will also available for purchase for attendees 21 and older with valid identification. No ATMs will be available on site.
Organizers encourage people to bring chairs and blankets for seating, bug spray and sunscreen.

Drinks, including alcohol
Briefcases
Luggage
Backpacks
Computer Bags
Glass containers
Canopies or tents
Umbrellas (chair umbrellas are permitted)
Wagons
Pets
Illegal substances
Drugs or drug paraphernalia
Frisbees
Fireworks/explosives
Moshing, crowd surfing, and/or stage diving
Unauthorized/unlicensed vendors
Unauthorized solicitations, handbills, flyers, stickers, sampling, giveaways, etc.
Toy weapons or real weapons of any kind (including pocket knives, pepper spray, etc.)
Professional recording equipment: photo, video, or audio (no detachable lenses, tripods, big zooms or commercial use rigs)
Drones
Camelbacks
Spray paint
Large chains or spiked jewelry
The park is accessible by strollers, wheelchairs and walkers, however, the sidewalk will not be accessible inside the event area. Accommodations for entry and exit will be made as needed for attendees utilizing a wheelchair at this event.
