Gilbert Town Council delays decision on neighborhood’s trees

The Gilbert Town Council has opted to delay a final decision on the fate of the eucalyptus trees in the College Park Country Estates subdivision.

After an extended discussion during a public hearing at Tuesday night’s meeting, the council decided to extend a deadline for residents’ responses to a town letter to March 31, allowing more time to assess legal documents and consider community feedback.

The letters requested residents adjacent to the eucalyptus trees to decide whether to take over responsibility or have the town cut them down as a courtesy.
