Gilbert student Nimca Cabdullahi will take her debate skills across the Atlantic this fall after being selected as one of 12 students nationwide for a prestigious international civics and debate program.
The American Leadership Academy student was chosen from an initial field of about 50 students to participate in "Debating Matters: Transatlantic," a program organized by the Bill of Rights Institute and the United Kingdom-based Debating Matters organization.
The five-day program will bring together high school students from the United States and the United Kingdom in London Nov. 11-15 to debate issues facing both nations.
