The town of Gilbert is accepting applications for one volunteer alternate position on the redevelopment commission.
This newly added role provides an essential opportunity to contribute to the ongoing redevelopment areas of Gilbert.
The alternate commissioner will participate in discussions and vote only when a regular member is absent or has a conflict of interest. While there may be meetings where the alternate primarily observes, attendance is crucial to staying informed on redevelopment projects and decisions.
The redevelopment commission advises the town council on matters concerning the town’s redevelopment areas.
Members review new development proposals, monitor ongoing projects, and help implement the town’s redevelopment plan. The commission operates under the legal framework of the state of Arizona, as outlined in Title 36, Chapter 12, Article 3 of the Arizona Revised Statutes.
The town seeks professionals with experience in architectural and landscape design, planning, finance, and related fields to serve on this commission.
The positions requires that the alternate must be a resident of Gilbert and a qualified elector.
Alternates serve a one-year term and may reapply for another alternate term or a regular commissioner position.
Meetings are typically held once a month on the third Wednesday, or as needed.
This is a volunteer position with no compensation.
All applicants must complete a one-way video interview as part of the selection process.
