Gilbert police, postal service work leads to Chandler woman’s arrest

A 34-year-old Chandler woman has been arrested and charged with stalking in connection with sending anonymous threatening letters to a Gilbert home, police said.
“On March 10, the victims reported receiving an anonymous letter at their home allegedly containing threatening statements with specific details about them,” a Gilbert Police Department release stated.
The case was assigned to detectives in the Criminal Intelligence Unit, which began collaborating with United States Postal Inspection Service investigators.
Between March 10 and March 18, the victims received two anonymous letters, the release stated.
On March 21, Gilbert officers arrested Shelby Trischler. Authorities said she knew the victims.
In addition to stalking, the charges include threatening or intimidating and disorderly conduct.
Trischler was booked into the custody of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
“The Gilbert Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety of our community and takes all threats seriously. We extend our gratitude to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service for their collaboration and assistance with this investigation,” the release stated.
