Gilbert plans day of service for seniors Jan. 17

Gilbert will host a Day of Service to Seniors on Saturday, Jan. 17, offering volunteer help for elderly and disabled residents who need assistance with basic household tasks.

The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will meet at Page Commons, 170 N. Oak St., Gilbert, before being assigned to one or two homes in the area. Projects may include:

  • Light yardwork
  • Trash and recycling help
  • Donation removal
  • Light housework such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and changing lightbulbs or air filters
