Gilbert has identified the first group of 10 capital improvement projects set to move forward as part of a long-term plan to enhance infrastructure and amenities across the community.
The first 10 of what the town deems as “quality of life” projects are heavy on parks and recreation, but also include the town’s victims advocacy center and other public safety measures.
The staff emphasized how they used Gilbert Town Council and resident feedback to select and prioritize these initial projects. The goal, they said, was to advance projects that residents were most eager to see — especially in parks and recreation — so that the community could begin to see visible results of the town’s sales tax increase from last fall more quickly.
