Gilbert district sees promising results in new math curriculum rollout

Gilbert Public Schools is reporting encouraging progress in its implementation of a new math curriculum, i-Ready.

The phased rollout, which began with a pilot program in the 2023-24 school year, has now expanded to 83% of elementary teachers and all junior high math instructors, district leaders reported to the GPS Governing Board at its Jan. 21 meeting.

“This has been a slow roll,” said Crystal Udall, K-6 math coordinator. “The biggest piece is we wanted sixth grade tying in with junior high …  (as) we're kind of assimilating them together.”
