Gilbert community rallies for record-breaking food drive

The Gilbert Feeding Families food drive hit a new milestone this year, collecting more than 45,000 pounds of food — a 40% increase from last year’s total.

The annual community-wide event was conducted in February, with a recognition ceremony later before Gilbert Town Council honoring top contributors across various categories.

A total of 53 locations participated in this year’s drive, including 18 schools, 16 businesses and 19 churches, as well as two restaurants giving a portion of their proceeds.
