Adult education in Gilbert Public Schools continues to grow as more residents return to the classroom to strengthen academic skills, earn high school equivalency diplomas and connect directly to workforce opportunities, district leaders told the governing board.
Delia Flores, coordinator of adult education for the district, said the adult learning program serves adults seeking academic improvement, English language instruction and job-related skills, with a focus on literacy, employment and workforce development.
“I’m proud to be part of a program that provides meaningful opportunities for adults in our community,” Flores said, noting the program is funded through federal and state Title II grants under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
