Dunkin' celebrating store's grand opening on Mesa-Gilbert border

Posted

Dunkin’ is holding a grand opening Feb. 15 for a store in the Superstition Springs neighborhood at 2105 S. Power Road, Mesa.

The new restaurant is eco-friendly. It is the first Arizona Dunkin’ housed in a shipping container, re-using what otherwise would be an abandoned cargo box.

Mesa City Councilmember Scott Somers and Gilbert Mayor Brigette Peterson will assist with the ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 7:30 a.m. before stepping behind the drive-thru window to help welcome Mesa Dunkin’ guests. Members of the Lumos Arts Academy Rock Band Club will also perform.

Dunkin’ is also donating a check for $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of the East Valley-Metro Phoenix, which serves more than 16,000 youth who are members at 27 clubs, along with 35,000 other youth across the Valley.

The Superstition Springs location employs approximately 20 crew members, who join a team of more than 5,000 Arizonans employed at Dunkin’ locations across the state.

Each year franchisees and guests donate through Dunkin’s Joy in Childhood Foundation to local food banks, children’s hospitals and more. The foundation provided donations of $239,000 in Arizona last year and $216,000 in 2021.

Arizona franchisees average an additional $20,000 each year in donations to local schools, children’s sports teams, nurses and other community organizations.
