A New Leaf is launching Work$ Ready, a new program designed to help people sharpen their skills. With unprecedented unemployment and financial hardship devastating our community, this new and innovative program will help households find new employment.
"As the enormity of job losses becomes clear, we've been looking for ways to help communities most impacted,” Sherry Cromett, president of CareerWork$ Inc, said in a release. “Leveraging our existing network and program tools, we've set out to partner with A New Leaf to address the urgent need of helping job seekers re-enter the workforce during and after this unprecedented time in the greater Phoenix region."
Work$ Ready was developed by CareerWork$ and will focus on general job-readiness skills, including professional presence, resume writing and interviewing as well as soft skills needed to land a job. Classes will be live streamed by experienced workforce instructors.
A New Leaf is offering this free, online, three-week class May 4-21. Sessions will be conducted 1-3 p.m. Arizona time Monday-Thursday each week.
Participants must commit to full engagement for the four sessions each week, two hours per day and complete all homework. Participants will also need to have access to a computer, laptop, tablet or Smartphone and internet connectivity.
