Walmart celebrated the remodeling of its Neighborhood Market at Chandler Boulevard and Cooper Road on June 27 with $4, 000 in grants to local organizations, according to a news release.

Walmart welcomed customers to the “newly transformed” Neighborhood Marker with a celebratory ribbon-cutting and community event.

There was an unveiling of a new community-focused mural and the recognition of community partnerships, the release stated.

Members of The Scottsdale Chorus sang the national anthem. Vendors hosted giveaways for attendees, according to the release.

Symbolic checks were presented to The O’Tahirah Foundation ($2,500) and DSquared Homes for the Homeless ($1,500).

Remodel improvements to the store include:

• A newly built pharmacy with a consultation room.

• Remodeled customer restrooms.

• New signs, displays and exterior landscaping.

• A new grocery pick-up location.

• Expanded selection of groceries, including a new “grab-and-go” section.

• Expanded refrigerated dog food options.

• New lighting, paint and bright displays.
