Chandler Police: Arrest made for weapons, narcotics possession

Chandler Police shared information this week about a Jan. 21 arrest that the department says helps keep city streets safe.

In a social media post, Chandler Police said its Street Crimes Unit made an arrest at a traffic stop, sharing excerpts of body-camera footage from the confrontation.

The department said the officers conducted a traffic stop on a driver with a "suspended registration,"  eventually discovering several bags of fentanyl, cocaine, firearms and counterfeit money inside the vehicle.

"Thanks to their vigilance and dedication, these harmful substances and weapons are no longer a threat to our neighborhoods," police wrote.

The video, posted on the  Chandler Police Department's official Facebook page, shows a younger man with dreadlocks as the apparent driver of a smaller vehicle. He's detained and says "I don't even know what's going on right now" in response to some questions.
