Chandler mental well-being is Saturday, Oct. 17

Posted

The Ready Set Go Foundation and Chandler Councilmember O.D. Harris will host the fifth annual Mental Well-Being Walk from 8-9:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at Downtown Chandler Square.

The annual community event will bring together residents, families, entrepreneurs, business leaders, healthcare professionals, and community organizations for a morning focused on mental well-being, physical wellness, and connection, according to a news release.

The event will feature yoga, stretching, walking, and healthcare and wellness resources, along with an awards presentation recognizing Chandler mental wellbeing champion individuals and organizations making a meaningful difference through advocacy, leadership, service, and compassion.

Now in its fifth year, the walk was created to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, encourage open conversations, and connect individuals and families with resources and support, the release states.

This year’s event will also highlight the mental well-being of entrepreneurs and small-business owners. Business ownership can bring opportunities, but entrepreneurs also face financial pressures and other stressors that can affect mental well-being, families, decision-making, and a business’s long-term health.

Harris, founder of the Ready Set Go Foundation and an entrepreneur, stated mental well-being must be part of the conversation about successful leadership.

“No one should walk through life’s challenges alone,” he stated in the release.

Downtown Chandler Square is an outdoor event space located along the west side of Arizona Avenue, between restaurants and in front of the Hilton Garden Inn.
