"This year’s turnout was record-setting, featuring 136 golfers supporting the (inaugural) Gerald Hundt Memorial Tournament," according to a release.

"For some it was a serious endeavor and a chance to spend a sunny and sometimes cloudy afternoon surrounded by friends. For all, it was a great way to raise funds," the release states.

The food bank sends almost a million pounds of food through its warehouse and feeds 40,000 individuals a year.

The food bank, 575 N. Idaho Road No. 701 in Apache Junction,  is a 501(c)3 organization that works together with its volunteers and partners to provide emergency food services to qualified individuals and families in East Valley Communities with kindness, respect, and dignity, according to the release.
