Tempe reported this week that the number of Covid-19 cases in the city has increased over last week, but transmission rates are "still low."
The highest increase is in ZIP code 85281 and the lowest in 85284, according to a city release.
The following Covid-19 cases by ZIP code are defined as new positive test results reported to the Arizona Department of Health Services within the last month. Home tests are not included in the following: 85281, 275 cases; 85282, 198; 85283 (includes the Town of Guadalupe), 144; and 85283, 75.
The city also reported that 67.4 percent of all eligible Tempe residents have received at least one dose of vaccine.
According to Maricopa County, the percentage of the total number of all eligible people in each ZIP code who have received both doses are: 85281, 52.5 percent; 85282, 64.1 percent; 85283 (includes the Town of Guadalupe), 72 percent; and 85284, 76.2 percent.
The city also reminds residents that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends children ages 5 through 11 should receive a booster shot five months after their initial Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination series.
Since the pandemic began, more than 4.8 million children ages 5-11 have been diagnosed with Covid-19, 15,000 have been hospitalized and more than 180 have died.
