Tempe council affirms May 16 vote on entertainment district, Coyotes arena
Posted
INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
The Tempe City County voted this week to move forward with the May 16 vote on the Tempe Entertainment District propositions.
That date was affirmed when the council decided to cancel a duplicate August election date.
The council vote came the same week that Phoenix filed a lawsuit to block the May election because of its concerns with the housing component of the development and its potential effects on the operation of Sky Harbor Airport.
According to Tempe, the August election would have cost more than $300,000.
Tempe residents have until April 17 to register to vote in the May election.
