Rosendin CEO retiring: Chandler resident leads national electrical firm from Tempe office

Mike Greenawalt will leave his post as chief executive officer of the nation’s largest employee-owned electrical contracting firm in 2025, company officials said.

Greenawalt, a Chandler resident and Sunnyslope High School graduate, works from the Tempe office of the San Jose, Calif.-based company. He has been with Rosendin more than 20 years and has a 45-year career in the electrical industry.

Beginning in January 2024, Keith Douglas will assume the role of chief executive officer and join the board of directors as Greenawalt transitions to CEO emeritus. Matt Hisaka will be named chief financial officer as Lorne Rundquist transitions to CFO emeritus.

“The electrical contracting industry has undergone rapid transformation, and Rosendin’s executive leadership team has been instrumental to ensuring our company and people are at the forefront of change,” Greenawalt said. “Keith Douglas will be leading the charge to prepare for the next evolution in construction, and I am proud to pass the torch to such a talented and respected leader.”

With more than 30 years of experience, Douglas joined Rosendin as a Division Manager in 2012 to open the Mid-Atlantic operations as the company expanded its national footprint into the East Coast, according to a release.

Hisaka has spent 12 years working in finance for Rosendin, serving most recently as vice president and chief accounting officer.

Through the work of Greenawalt, Rundquist and other members of the company’s leadership team, Rosendin has “retained our high standards and emerged from the pandemic stronger and well-positioned for a new chapter of innovation,” Douglas said.

“I am proud of the work we have done and look forward to adopting new ideas and technologies that have the potential to change the industry fundamentally.”

Established in 1919, Rosendin employs more 7,000 people with an average revenue of $2.9 billion, according to the release.
