Posted

Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills, Arizona’s first fully lit 18-hole golf course, will host the Good Good Desert Open presented by Golf Galaxy on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

The Desert Open is a 14-hole competition featuring Good Good Golf athletes, top golf content creators, professional athletes and celebrities playing under the bright lights, a press release explained.

The event will be broadcast live on Peacock and tickets to attend the event are available online at Eventbrite.com. Gates open at 4 p.m. for ticketed spectators and tickets will not be sold at the gate. Onsite parking is limited, so spectators are encouraged to ride share.

Twenty-six two-person teams will compete for the Good Good Desert Open championship playing a scramble format. Athletes, creators and celebrities scheduled to play include:

  • Garrett Clark and Grant Horvat
  • AJ and Albert Pujols
  • Frankie Borelli and Trent Ryan
  • Matt Scharff and Micah Morris
  • Stephen Castaneda and Brad Dalke
  • Paige Spiranac and Cailyn Henderson
  • Johnny Manziel and Cody Yalt
  • Ryan Sheckler and Jimmy Hoselton
  • Dave Roberts and Pete Wilson

“Working with partners who share the same mindset of finding new and exciting ways to grow the game of golf is always refreshing and we can’t wait for fans of YouTube golf to experience this event,” stated Good Good Golf CEO Matt Kendrick in the release.

Good Good Golf, Desert Open and Grass Clippings merchandise will be available for spectators to purchase along with food and beverage. During the event, fans can walk the course and follow their favorite athlete, creator and/or celebrity, the release explained.

“The Good Good Desert Open, being live-streamed and played under the lights, symbolizes our commitment to innovating the golf experience and bringing the sport to a wider, digital audience,” stated Grass Clippings CEO Jake Hoselton in the release. “This is the first of many primetime events Grass Clippings will host and truly a sneak peek of what the newly launched Grass League entails.”

Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills opened to night golf play in December 2023 and has become a favorite destination for golfers, the release noted. The introduction of lights and night golf is just the beginning for the golf and entertainment venue, the flagship location for Grass Clippings’ vision.
