West-MEC donates fixed golf carts to Surprise, OUAZ

City, university are beneficiaries of student refurbishments

Western Maricopa Education Center students recently presented a fully refurbished golf cart they restored to the city of Surprise and Ottawa University-Arizona.

West-MEC Powersports Technology and IT Security students revealed the efforts of a semester-long collaborative project during a community event on April 29. They utilized the skills they learned in their courses to restore the golf cart, fully renovating the wheels, breaks and transforming the cart to be electric.
