The city of Surprise is hosting a workshop, called “Designing a Water Harvesting Landscape,” this month at the Surprise Water Education Center, 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza.
Learn to assess yards based on integrated design principles and find ways to shape landscape to passively harvest rainwater on site from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23.
Water officials will give ideas on how to size and plan where to place water harvesting basins to help slow the flow of the water, spread it across the areas where it’s needed and sink it into the ground.
