The Surprise Economic Development Department celebrated women business and community leaders in the city at its annual Galentine’s Day Event on Feb. 13 at the West Valley Arts HQ Gallery.
Nearly 50 local women joined Surprise Mayor Kevin Sartor, City Councilmember Earle Greenberg and members of the Surprise Economic Development and other departments in the city for a celebration of friendship and community.
The event was inspired by the TV show “Parks and Recreation,” including waffles, of course.
West Valley Arts Council Executive Director Kathy Knecht was the day’s keynote speaker, and she shared her insight and inspiration with the group.
As You Wish Pottery in Surprise led attendees to paint their own heart-shaped dishes.
