CCA runs from late January to early May, with meetings hosted from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Surprise City Court, 16081 N. Civic Center Plaza.
The program offers a curriculum of structured, real-world experiences, including participation in a mock trial and observation of an oral argument at the Arizona Supreme Court.
Participants will also have the opportunity to work closely with professionals at Surprise City Court, including judges, attorneys, police personnel and other key court staff.
“This unique opportunity helps spark interest in legal careers while also giving participants an understanding of how the justice system works,” city officials wrote in a news release. “Through this interactive process, CCA aims to help students learn more about justice, freedom, responsibility, equality and authority.”
The city also said the program is designed to help participants develop into mature, responsible and productive community members.
