The two new baseball-themed art installations outside Surprise Stadium will finally have its official ribbon cutting this month.
The public is invited to the completion celebration of “Bounce” and “Swing” at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30 outside the third base gate at the stadium.
The “Bounce” sculpture is located just outside of the stadium’s first base gate. The piece mimics a bouncing baseball with its trajectory formed in steel. A cotton pattern runs through the steel, paying homage to Surprise’s agricultural roots.

“Swing” is located outside of the third base gate. This sculpture is inspired by stop-motion photography and made from more than 200 real baseball bats that take the form of a batter’s swing.
RSP Architects created the art pieces, which Southwest Fabrication and Bollinger Atelier built in Arizona.
Each sculpture includes lighting for nighttime viewing.
