The city of Surprise is rolling out the red carpet for the return of spring training at the 24th annual mayor’s welcome back reception, a longtime tradition that officially sets the season in motion.
The celebration with Mayor Kevin Sartor takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18 at Surprise Stadium, bringing together city leaders, team partners and baseball fans for an early-season gathering in one of Arizona’s premier spring training destinations.
Speakers from the city, along with representatives from the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals, will help launch the season.
