City offices will be closed, and officials said some programs and facilities may have modified hours.

City trash customers are reminded there will be a modified trash collection schedule that week that will postpone collection by one day. There will be no service on Monday, Jan. 20. Collection will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

All three city of Surprise libraries will have modified hours for the holiday. Surprise Regional and Asante Libraries will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Hollyhock will be open 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Microtransit – WeRIDE will not run on Jan. 20. Service will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 6 a.m.

Programming at city parks and recreation centers will proceed as planned. The Surprise Tennis & Racquet Center will be open for only casual play until noon. For questions on Parks and Recreation programming, please call 623.222.2000.

In celebration of the holiday, the cCity is holding its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Celebration and Service 8 a.m.-noon Jan. 18 at Willow Canyon High School, 17901 W.
