When the city of Surprise Parks and Recreation wanted to get input from residents of all ages, staff held a meeting at a community park where parents watched their children play on an early Saturday morning.
Instead of a formal indoor meeting, representatives held the last of three in-person public engagement forums outside on Jan. 24 at The Fields at Countryside, 15263 W. Greenway Road.
Staff brought the meeting regarding updating the department’s master plan for parks, open spaces and recreation areas to a setting where they knew adults and children would be present.
