Surprise moves into ‘selective’ home market

City considered affordable in relation to other cities

As Surprise hit the mid-year, the city remained a relatively good bargain in the Valley for buying a home, but no Valley cities are reallly standing out from the pack with activity, a Valley Realtor said.

Despite the typical slowdown in home sales in July during the summer heat, Surprise joined those cities there favored a slight buyers market that has emerged as prices have more or less leveled off this year.

The Phoenix Realtors Market Report for July showed the Valley market is becoming more selective, said Sammy Glassman, board president of Phoenix Reators. Glassman said buyers are taking more time to make decisions, while proper sale prices are giving sellers serious offers sooner.
