Military service, leadership and community will be the focus of “America 250 with Mayor Sartor,” a free event scheduled at the Surprise Regional Library, 16089 N. Bullard Ave., featuring remarks from Kevin Sartor about his 20-year Army career.
The event, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, is one of several America 250 events planned in Surprise as communities across the country prepare to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the U.S.
Sartor will reflect on his long career in the Army and Arizona National Guard, including deployments to Iraq, service as a drill sergeant, and leadership roles as an engineer officer and company commander.
