Surprise man plans tri-state bike ride for ALS again

The Grand resident Bob Higgins will once again join hundreds of cyclists in June on the roads of New England for the 24th annual Tri-State Trek, a two-day, 200-mile cycling event benefiting the ALS Therapy Development Institute.

This will mark Higgins’ 12th consecutive year of participation in the Trek, which will take place June 27 and 28, with routes spanning Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, all beginning and ending in Durham, N.H.

The Tri-State Trek began in 2003 with 16 cyclists. Now, in its 24th year, the event includes over 400 riders who will embark on this strenuous challenge to bring together the ALS community and raise much-needed funds.
