Reading is not a lost art for six middle schoolers whose art designs were chosen for the Friends of The Surprise Libraries’ annual bookmark contest.
For two weeks, guests can get the bookmarks illustrated by sixth- to eighth-grade students whose condensed artwork will be shared at the Surprise Regional Library, starting March 30, then they will be available across from the main lobby at the check-out desk in the FOSL room, 16089 N. Bullard Ave.
In addition to intricate designs, the bookmarks have encouraging themes ranging from “You can never have enough books” to “Read when you get a chance.”
