Surprise high school to add Marine junior reserve program

Second district JROTC program coming next school year

Willow Canyon High School will be the newest school in Arizona to offer a U.S. Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program.

The program will launch for the 2026-27 school year at the school campus at 17901 W. Lundberg St., after the Dysart Governing Board approved it at the March 30 meeting.

High school students in the Dysart Unified School District will be eligible to enroll in the program, which consists of up to four levels of leadership education instruction.
