Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne recognized the only high school in the state to be named among the 2024 National Blue Ribbon School recipients — and it’s in Surprise.
Students and staff at Shadow Ridge High School, 10909 N. Perryville Road, got a visit from the head educator, who congratulated them on Oct. 7 for being among six schools in Arizona, and the only high school in the state to receive the recognition.
Early morning celebrations for achieving the National Blue Ribbon School designation included a staff and student address, acknowledgments by dignitaries Horne, Dysart Unified School District Superintendent John Croteau, campus festivities with games, snacks and music.
