Maricopa County has granted Surprise more money to operate its Community Action Program services for the next fiscal year.

The county and city have extended an intergovernmental agreement for running the services at the Surprise Resource Center, 12425 W. Bell Road.

The city received $386,100 from the county for reimbursable salaries and employee-related expenses.

As part of the deal, the city is required to match 25% of it. That money is already set aside in the recently approved Human Service and Community Vitality Department operating budget.

The two governmental bodies first agreed on funding to provide Community Action Program services from the Surprise Resource Center in 2016.
