Lulu Busari played some youth league flag football when she was younger, but did not think much about it as high school started and her basketball career blossomed at Valley Vista.
The Surprise school and other Dysart Unified School District high schools did not play in 2023, the first year of AIA flag football. But the district was there by 2024 and Busari decided to join the Valley Vista team as a lark.
“I wasn’t originally going to do it but all my friends were. So I thought I might as well,” Busari said. “And the, I don’t know, I just started cooking. I thought maybe I am good at this and should actually try this.”
