The city of Surprise extended the deadline for residents to comment on the city’s transportation master plan that is in the works.
And to sweeten the pot to encourage people to give feedback, the city opened a contest for gift baskets that include tickets to spring training games and the Out of the Park Music Fest.
The new deadline to take the online survey at surpriseaz.gov/TransportationPlan is Wednesday, Aug. 13.
The first round of the survey will gather input on mobility needs, safety, congestion and travel behavior. City officials are using it as a key opportunity for residents, business owners and visitors to share their experiences, priorities and ideas for improving movement around Surprise.
At the end of the survey, there is an option to enter a giveaway with a grand prize of four lower dugout seats to any 2026 spring training game at Surprise Stadium and four general admission tickets to the 2026 Out of the Park Music Fest. There will also be two runner-up prizes of four lower dugout seats to any 2026 spring training game.
Those who have already taken the survey can still enter the giveaway.
As part of the master plan process, residents can also use an interactive mapping tool to drop pins, leave comments and upload photos to share transportation concerns or ideas.
The transportation master plan, which is expected to be complete in fall 2026, will help the city plan and design its transportation system by establishing a roadmap for infrastructure improvements in the near-term and long-term. It is intended to develop a transportation network that seamlessly connects all parts of the city through a complete, safe and balanced multimodal network.
Throughout the entire project timeline, the city will use a variety of outreach initiatives to understand community sentiments, guide the plan’s development and seek feedback on draft plan recommendations including surveys, interactive mapping tools, pop-up events and in-person and virtual open houses.
