The Surprise City Council is meeting a day earlier than usual tonight because of Tuesday's election — and it may be joining a new chamber of commerce during it.
A work session is scheduled for 5 p.m. tonight at City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza. A regular meeting is right after at 6 p.m.
At the regular meeting, the Council will decide whether to join up with the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce.
It comes a few years after the city had a falling out with the Northwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, which was then called the Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce when it was affiliated with the city.
Among the items on the work session agenda is a look at the public art landscape in Surprise as the city tries to grow its offerings across the city.
