Before approving city funding to help out the upcoming Desert Fall Festival in City Center, Surprise Vice Mayor Earle Greenberg had an important question.

“What do we get to shoot this year with the apple cannon?” Greenberg asked at the Sept. 1 city council meeting.

Apple cannons are one of the attractions at the festival that will include Western-inspired, fall themed entertainment, unique attractions, food vendors and live performances from Sept. 25 to Nov. 1.
