Surprise residents who want to learn about the structure of city government, get updated on local issues and get to know the city’s leaders now have a chance to do so.

Registration is open for the 2025 Surprise City Academy, the nine-session workshop that offers the opportunity to learn about the city directly from the mayor, councilmembers, city manager and upper-level city staff. Plus, attendees will hear from some of the city partners.

The Surprise City Academy begins on Feb. 24 and meets weekly through April 21. Most classes will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Surprise Public Safety Building, 14250 W. Statler Plaza.

It’s free to participate, but space is limited. Registration is required by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14.

Find information, including the online application, at surpriseaz.gov/CityAcademy.
