Wyyerd Fiber organized a holiday sock and blanket drive, resulting in the collection of 535 pairs of socks and 86 blankets in support of the Benevilla Home Services Program.
The donations will be gifted to program members who are homebound older adults and adults with disabilities facing limited resources. Many of these individuals might not have otherwise received any gifts this past holiday season, making this initiative all the more impactful.
“Our Home Services Program supports some of the most vulnerable members of our community, and the kindness shown by Wyyerd Fiber and their customers reminds us of the power of community,” said Joanne Byers, president and CEO of Benevilla. “These contributions not only provide warmth but also bring joy and a sense of connection to those we serve.”
Benevilla’s Home Services Program offers vital assistance, such as grocery shopping, transportation and light handyman services to help individuals remain independent in their homes. The donated socks and blankets are expected to bring comfort to program members during the colder months while serving as a reminder that they are cared for and valued.
