WeRIDE for sure won’t be coming back to Surprise after June 30, but an alternative program could be coming in its place for those who need it most.
Mayor Kevin Sartor today clarified comments he made yesterday that keeping WeRIDE as a city offering could be an option, as he said the two-year microtransit program is definitely ending at the end of the month.
Instead, Sartor said the city is evaluating transit options internally that could possibly lead to the creation of a voucher system to give rides to specific places in the city.
