Mat Clark did want to work as an athletic director again after he and his family moved to the Valley from Washington state four years ago.
He did not expect to return to that job title in the middle of summer, with a school reaching out to him on vacation about a surprise and urgent opening.
Clark is the “new” new athletic director at Valley Vista High School. Former AD Nestor Felix moved to an assistant principal role at Dysart High, and former Greenway High athletic director Jeff Feldman was hired as his replacement but stepped down early in the summer.
