Former Surprise Councilmember Aly Cline and her husband, Gary, are among four residents and one nonprofit group that will be honored with Community Legend awards this month at the annual Surprise Area Interfaith and Golden Rule Breakfast.
A subcommittee of the city’s Veterans, Disability and Human Services Commission picked the Clines, artist Connie Whitlock, youth leader Lela Sky West and A New Leaf for this year’s awards, which will be handed out at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Dysart Unified School District Governing Board Office.
It is the third year the commission has handed out Community Legend award plaques to recognize people and organizations who have made a positive impact in Surprise.
